The City of Edina hosted Community Conversation: Addressing Gun Violence Oct. 5 at Edina City Hall. The event brought residents, City leaders, Police and community partners together to discuss recent incidents of gunfire, community safety concerns and opportunities for a regional response.

The informational presentation included an update from Police Chief Todd Milburn on recent shootings in Edina and the Police Department’s response and strategy. Representatives of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, Hennepin County Attorney’s Office and Federal Bureau of Investigation also shared information.

The City recognizes the high level of concern in the community following recent incidents in Edina and surrounding communities and continues to ask residents for input. Use the Public Safety Feedback Form in the “Provide Feedback and Ask Questions” tab on this page to:

The City of Edina and Edina Police Department are dedicated to the safety and wellbeing of all residents. In response to recent incidents of gunfire, including those at Yancey Park and Our Lady of Grace Church, officials are actively investigating, increasing police presence and engaging with the community to prevent future events. Policy updates and community meetings are underway to strengthen public safety.
